By the early 1900’s, stores could be found on all sides of the Paris town square, and other establishments branched out from that point. Now the square and the buildings in a 4 block radius are listed as a Nationally Registered Historic Commercial District. 51 percent of the buildings in a 4 block radius are intact & teaming with retail and service businesses mixed with convenient and varied dining establishments.

The Courthouse, grounds and square area become a fantasy of lights and decorations each year beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Listed on the Arkansas Trail of Holiday Lights, countless visitors visit the display every year.
