33rd Annual Mt. Magazine Frontier Day Festival!
On the courthouse Square ~ Where Yesterday Meets Today for a Day...
Every year on the first Saturday in October, Paris hosts the Annual Mt. Magazine Frontier Day Festival. The event is a day full of entertainment, contests, and lots and lots of fun. Anyone attending the event is encouraged to dress in Frontier appropriate attire and participate in this fun filled old fashion celebration of our pioneer heritage! We would like to invite you to join us Saturday, October 6, 2012 in downtown Paris on the courthouse square, for our 33rd Annual Mt. Magazine Frontier Day Festival. The festivities begin at 7:30AM with a Relay for Life 5K Race followed by a Parade at 9am then the square fills for our Opening Ceremonies at 10am the unveiling of the Haguewood Prairie Civil War Battle Historical Marker will be held during opening ceremonies. From 10AM-5PM, the day is packed with arts & craft & food vendors, old fashioned games and contests with prizes to the winners. A pioneer dress contest will be held at the Logan County Museum at 11AM for men, women & children. The annual Box Turtle Race will be held at 10:30AM at the square stage. Live western re-enactments, live musical entertainment and activities for the children are also highlighted throughout the day. The Antique and Classic Car show will be held from 10AM-2pm at the parking lots on South 1st & East Pine Streets. A Motorcycle Rally & Poker Run will be held from 10AM-3PM on West Pine and South Express streets with benefits going to the DHS Foster Kids Christmas program. CASA of the Tri-Peaks and the Rural Fire Departments will be hosting a fantastic KIDZ Zone from 10AM-4PM, armbands will be sold for some of the activities and all proceeds will benefit the Court Appointed Special Advocates program. The Logan County Piecemakers Quilt Guild will have a quilt show held at the No. Logan County Fairgrounds from 10-4. The Miss Mt. Magazine Pageant will top off the fun packed day and will be held at the Middle School Auditorium at 602 North 10th at 5 pm. Below you will find an official booth reservation form listing instructions and information needed to participate as a craft or food vendor in our festival. Deadline to turn in applications will be Friday, September 21st.
For safety purposes, we do not allow stink bombs or any type of toy guns that shoot objects out of them, (darts, corks, etc) this is dangerous to our festival attendees. Please NO marshmallows, these are impossible to clean off the brick sidewalks.
